13th Annual Alzheimer’s 5k, Team Relay, & Half Marathon

Mission

This event's purpose is to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. This will be the 13th year we have brought together the community to raise awareness and money for this devastating disease.

Event History

This event started in 2013 with 121 participants and raised $2400. Since then, over the past 11 years, we have raised a total of $88,000 to help fund research to find a cure. Please consider joining us this year to get active and help battle this disease.

Who is this Event for?

For all runners and walkers but more importantly anyone that has been effected by Alzheimer's.

The race will start at Heritage Trail Pond, Highway 52. Enjoy an out-and-back course over the bridge and towards town for the 5k and a 5 mile out-and-back course heading west towards Durango, then finishing on the 5k portion for the Half Marathon.

TEAM RACE

3 legs of half- 6.4mile, 3.6mile & 3.1 mile

Registration for Team Race will be $75 a team and awards will be presented to top three teams

There will be no team registration accepted after August 9th

HALF MARATHON RELAY

First runner leaves the Heritage Pond (Start/Finish) heading west (crushed limestone). They run PAST the first exchange point at Durango to the turn around cone (5 miles out), when they get back to the Durango exchange, they switch with the second runner (total 6.4 miles)

Second runner takes off AFTER the first runner returns from the turn around cone, second runner runs back to Heritage Pond (3.6 miles)

Third runner takes over at the Heritage Pond (Start/Finish) and runs the out and back 5k portion on black top. (3.1 miles)

Relay teams are responsible for their own transportation to Durango (2nd runner can drive to Durango, and 1st runner can drive back to pond while the 2nd runner is racing)

HALF MARATHON

Start and Finish at the Heritage Pond, runners will head out west on crushed limestone trail for 5 miles, turn around, return to pond, and finish with the 5k out and back course on black top. Total elevation over 13.1 miles is 110 ft. (flat course)

$25 by June 1st

Half Marathon Registration:

$40 by June 1st

$45 by July 1st

$50 by August 1st

$55 after August 1st

Kids' 1/2 Mile Run Registration:

$10; Add a shirt for an extra $5!

Knickers pizza to all participants!

AWARDS

Medals will be awarded to the top female and male finishers in each age division per race

Trophies will be awarded to the top female and male overall finishes in the 5k and top three female and male overall finishes in the Half Marathon.

Any division or overall record broken in the 5k will receive a free $10 Gift Card to Casey's General Store.

Proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
